Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage, a.k.a. Tyrion Lannister, gets real in the May issue of Rolling Stone.

With Aquae Lucidius.
POISON BOOZE PARTY AT HAWKE’S:
- Merrill is swinging from the chandelier, and nobody’s sure if it’s because she’s drunk, or just happy.
- Isabela is making out with Hawke’s potted plants.
- Aveline thinks she’s baking a cake and refuses to wear her apron.
Also true of me, and I’m an Aussie. Not a meme but I saw this on my dash and this blog came instantly came to my mind! It’s pretty accurate!

pretty sure that when varric found out about ser pounce-a-lot—filing those seemingly insignificant details away for later, keeping an impeccable mental tally on everything he might need to draw on someday—he had his first moment of pause. it wasn’t the spirit-demon-possession thing that got to him, or the semi-ex-warden thing, or all the birds it seemed blondie had to be murdering for his shoulders, but the fact that he was a cat person. those brown eyes, that sad mouth, the stubbly whiskers and the knotted brow—the mage was clearly a mabari puppy looking for a warm lap and a rub behind the ears. no wonder hawke ended up liking him so much. (no wonder varric did, too. how can you say no to that face? how can you not want to keep it safe for once?)

This is so cool!
i was working on that sebastian redesign that i posted a little while ago when i suddenly wondered if starkhaven—or even more specifically, the vael family—had some sort of family crest or symbol, like the amells. searching the internet brought up almost nothing, so i went digging through the DAII game assets.
turns out there is a starkhaven crest. and a whole bunch of others i’ve never seen before. so i decided to take the raw files and do something useful with them.
these symbols were taken directly from the DAII game art assets folder. most likely these are not all the symbols that show up in the game, but i don’t have access to the legacy and mark of the assassin DLC assets since those files are encrypted. a number of these are also probably not official (canonically) either. my guess is that some of them were concepts that later got changed/refined or just scrapped. they’re still fairly interesting to look at though.
there are probably a number of symbols some of you may recognize (especially if you’re the diligent type to go shifting through the dragon age wiki or bioware’s blog). i left them in there regardless, for those who may have not seen these before.
if you would like to have the crests/symbols as individual files, all at larger res, you can download them [HERE]!

Isabela doesn’t sell sex, she HAS sex. So she’s definitely not a whore. Jeth and Serendipity can vouch for that.
She enjoys sex. She has a lot of sex, with a lot of people.
That’s not who she is- that’s simply one of her hobbies. Isabela is not defined by the amount of sex she has. NO ONE is defined by the amount of sex they have.
That’s like reducing anyone who’s never had sex to “virgin” and completely ignoring who they are, their likes, dislikes, history, personality.
Isabela is from Rivain. She was a child bride sold by her mother. She knows quite a bit about traditional Rivaini magic, or at least how to fake it. She learned to captain her own ship after her husband’s oh-so-tragic death (the husband that loaned her out sexually to his friends.) Isabela is the queen of her own destiny. She goes where she wants, does what she wants, wears what she wants, has sex with who she wants, and despite all of that, there’s a thread of stubborn goodness running through her, a thread that leads her to do the right thing even when it’s not advantageous.
She’s good at cards, writes friend-fiction, enjoys naughty literature, and fights like a demon with a pair of daggers.
She’s also a protective and dedicated friend to Merrill, Aveline, and Bethany, encouraging each of the women to be strong and to go after what she wants. She’s an especially soft touch with Merrill and Beth. With Aveline she respects the other woman’s strength and encourages her to stand up for herself, and to not let anyone make her think less of herself.
If all you can think about regarding Isabela is how much sex she has, then you really missed out on an excellent character.
Your loss.
At FYeahIsabela we don’t generally reblog from the Dragon Age confessions page unless the confession is Isabela-positive.
However, we felt that katiebour’s description of Isabela’s character to be highly accurate and relevant, and describes everything we love about our pirate queen.
Thank you katiebour for the excellent response!
Reblogging despite the confession not being Varric related due to Katie’s excellent words and the fact that I will forever and always support Isabela.
There have been far too many confessions repeating the same idiotic ‘Isabela is a whore’ garbage and I am utterly sick of it. Enough is enough, folks.
